Este artigo apresenta uma discussão teórica sobre o tema do patrimônio cultural. Inspirado por Michel Foucault, o texto almeja proceder uma análise de discurso tomando como objeto de investigação a gênese e estrutura da racionalidade patrimonial. Nesse sentido, o argumento se ergue em 4 partes: 1) primeiro, mostro os fundamentos teóricos de uma ordem discursiva; 2) depois, reproduzo os enunciados de autores canônicos, mostrando como se constrói a disposição epistemológica da categoria “patrimônio”; 3) ainda, conduzo uma discussão sobre a ordem simbólica estatal, sobretudo o modo pelo qual a categoria de patrimônio cultural se ajusta ao projeto da modernidade, qualificando a integração do estado-nação; 4) por fim, discuto a dispersão dos enunciados do patrimôn
This paper presents a theoretical debate on cultural heritage. Inspired by Michel Foucault, this paper intends to do discourse analysis taking as its object the genesis and structure of heritage rationality. In this sense, the argument is divided into 4 parts: 1) first, I show the theoretical foundations of a discursive order; 2) then, I reproduce the statements of canonical authors, showing how the epistemological disposition of the “heritage” category is constructed; 3) still, I conduct a discussion on the state symbolic order, especially the way in which the category of cultural heritage fits the project of modernity, qualifying the integration of the nation-state; 4) finally, I discuss the statements of Brazilian cultural heritage in the policy of the Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage - IPHAN.
