O artigo faz uma análise da pandemia do novo coronavírus entre março e agosto a partir das relações entre o discurso racista, político e científico sobre sociedades africanas e afrodiaspóricas. O objetivo é abordar como o racismo é tão letal quanto o vírus que provoca a morte por Covid-19. A cena de violência racial que causou a morte de George Floyd, homem negro, por um policial branco nos Estados Unidos, as ações antirracistas do movimento Black Lives Matter (BLM) no mundo e o comentário racista entre dois cientistas franceses sobre testes de vacinas na África são alguns dos episódios relacionados para exemplificar na atual conjuntura mundial como o racismo estrutura a “colonialidade do poder” e a “necropolítica”, afetando diretamente corpos negros.

The article analyzes the pandemic of the new coron a virus between March and August based on the relationship between racist, political and scientific discourse about African and diasporic societies. The goal is to address how racism is as lethal as the virus that causes death by Covid-19. The scene of racial violence that caused the death of George Floyd, a black man, by a white policeman in the United States, the anti-racist actions of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement in the world and the racist comment between two French scientists about vaccine testing in Africa these are some of the episodes related to exemplify in the current world situation how racism structures the "coloniality of power" and "necropolitics" and directly affects black bodies.
