O presente artigo apresenta algumas ponderações pertinentes à temática do racismo religioso no Brasil. Com referencial teórico aferido por uma revisão de literatura simples, conceitos como racismo, racismoreligioso e liberdade de culto amparam a análise de alguns artigos da Constituição Federal de 1988, e outras leis decorrentes dela, no que se refere ao debate sobre liberdade de culto e promoção da cultura afro-diaspórica no Brasil. Dividido em quatro seções, o texto apresenta o debate acerca do tema geral, localizando questões históricas e de construção da identidade racial no Brasil, prossegue com a análise da intolerância religiosa a partir das bases do racismo que estrutura a sociedade, perpassa pela análise de como a liberdade de culto é entendida por algumas legislações e finaliza apontando possíveis caminhos para lidar com as violações ao direito de livre manifestação religiosa. Espera-se, com este artigo, possibilitar que mais reflexões sejam feitassobre como podemos pensar em uma sociedade que, alinhada aos tratados internacionais, defenda cada vez mais a liberdade de culto como política antirracista.
This article presents some pertinent considerations on the subject of religious racism in Brazil. With a theoretical framework based on a simple literature review, concepts such as racism, religious racism and freedom of worship support the analysis of some articles of the 1988 Federal Constitution, and other laws deriving from it, with regard to the debate on freedom of worship and the promotion of afro-diasporic culture in Brazil. Divided into four sections, the text presents the debate on the general theme, locating historical issues and the construction of racial identity in Brazil, continues with an analysis of religious intolerance based on the foundations of the racism that structures society, goes through an analysis of how freedom of worship is understood by some legislation and concludes by pointing out possible ways of dealing with violations of the right to free religious manifestation. It is hoped that this article will enable further reflection on how we can think of a society that, in line with international treaties, increasingly defends freedom of worship as an anti-racist policy.
