Este artigo é sobre o processo de construção vernacular de uma linguagem gráfica na web, as Rage Faces. Desde a primeira publicação do genêro, os internautas aderiram ao estilo e criaram outros personagens com os mesmos traços rabiscados, formando um vocabulário visual muito popular. Superficialmente elas podem ser entendidas como simples representações de faces humanas, mas os fluentes nesta linguagem usam-nas com maior complexidade, comunicando as idéias vindas das histórias de cada personagem.

This article describes the process of vernacular construction of a graphic language on the web, called Rage Faces. From the fi rst publication of the genre, the internet users cohere the stile and create other characters with the same scrawled traces, that formulate an extremely popular visual vocabulary. Superfi cially they can be understood as simple representations of human faces, but the aspects in this language are more complex, communicating the ideas from the history of each character.
