O estudo objetivou avaliar os efeitos da utilização do vídeo educativo para promoção do apego entre mãe soropositiva para o HIV e seu filho após seis meses de interação entre ambos. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo-exploratório com abordagem qualitativa. Os dados foram coletados através de entrevista semiestruturada. A amostragem foi intencional. O plano de análise seguiu os seguintes passos: constituição do corpus, definição das unidades de análise, categorização, análise dos dados por categorias. Este estudo evidenciou que, apesar das dificuldades e limitações impostas pelo HIV/AIDS, pelo seu tratamento e pela incerteza presente no cotidiano, as mães portadoras de HIV desenvolvem estratégias que possibilitam enfrentar e conviver melhor com a doença, ao passo que não negligenciam seu papel de mãe.
The study aimed at evaluating the effects of the educational video use to promote the attachment between HIV positive mother and her son after six months of contact between them.This is an exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews. The sampling was intentional. The plan of analysis consisted of the following steps: the constitution of the corpus, definition of unit analysis, data categorization and analysis through categories. This study showed that, despite the difficulties and obstacles imposed by HIV / AIDS, by the treatment and the doubts present in daily life, HIV mothers develop strategies that enable them to live and better deal with the disease, without forgetting their role as a mother.
