A Alfândega de Manaus foi durante o final do século XIX e início do século XX a porta de entrada para produtos e pessoas advindas de todos os cantos do mundo, e também a porta de saída de produtos locais que movimentaram por décadas a economia do Amazonas e do Brasil. Esse movimento ficou registrado no arquivo da Alfândega, que hoje encontra-se disperso em vários locais na cidade de Manaus. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo fazer uma reflexão sobre parte desse acervo que se encontra custodiado no Arquivo Público do Estado do Amazonas, trazendo resultados parciais do projeto de extensão do curso de Arquivologia que tem por objetivo organizar o acervo. Para alcançar os objetivos foi realizado uma pesquisa bibliográfica para contextualizar o objeto, bem como uma análise tipológica do próprio acervo. Espera-se que tal reflexão possa contribuir para difusão do fundo documental da Alfândega de Manaus e fomentar novos trabalhos sobre o tema.
Manaus Customs was, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the gateway for products and people from all corners of the world, and also the gateway for local products that have driven the Amazon economy for decades and of Brazil. This movement was registered in the Customs archive, which today is dispersed in several places in the city of Manaus. The present work aims to reflect on part of this collection that is kept in the Public Archive of the State of Amazonas, bringing partial results of the project of extension of the Archivology course that aims to organize the collection. To achieve the objectives, a bibliographic research was carried out to contextualize the object, as well as a typological analysis of the collection itself. It is hoped that such reflection can contribute to the dissemination of the documentary background of the Customs of Manaus and to encourage new works on the theme.
