O artigo objetiva investigar as contribuições dos documentos pessoais de Franklin Joaquim Cascaes para preservação da memória da cultura catarinense. Para tanto, utiliza os documentos pessoais sobre a sociedade, crença, tradições da Ilha da Santa Catarina e seus arredores disponíveis no Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia Professor Oswaldo Rodrigues Cabral (MArquE) da Universidade Federal de SantaCatarina (UFSC), denominada Coleção Professora Elizabeth Pavan Cascaes. O estudo tem como fundamento teórico o construcionismo social e a interdependência entre os indivíduos. Trata-se de pesquisa do tipo qualitativa, exploratória que adota como estratégia metodológica pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. Conclui que o levantamento e divulgação do acervo podem trazer benefícios para a disseminação da memória cultural e histórica da sociedade catarinense.
The article investigates the contributions of the personal papers of Franklin Joaquim Cascaes to preserving the memory of Santa Catarina culture. Therefore, uses personal documents on society, belief and traditions of the island of Santa Catarina and its surroundings available at the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology Teacher Oswaldo Rodrigues Cabral (MarquE) of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), called Professor Elizabeth Collection Pavan Cascaes. The study is theoretical foundation social constructionism and the interdependence between individuals. This is qualitative study, exploratory adopting as a methodological bibliographic and documentary research strategy. It concludes that the survey and collection of the disclosure may bring benefits to the spread of cultural and historical memory of Santa Catarina society.
