Filósofo da esperança, Bloch reflete sobre religião e utopia, sugere que o ateísmo é a verdade da religião. Hoje, presencia-se no contexto social constantes conflitos envolvendo a religião, que conduz a esperança de um mundo melhor. A utopia é força impulsionadora para o novum, através de sonhos diurnos individuais também as utopias sociais na coletividade visam a transcendência ao futuro. Bloch se apropria dos conteúdos das religiões judaicas e cristãs, para construir sua teoria materialista. Concebe que o divino se materializou no humano, através da personagem do Filho do Homem, passando a religião do céu à terra. Objetiva-se demonstrar que o ateísmo é ativado pelas próprias utopias do cristianismo, ao fazer uma leitura crítica da Bíblia daquilo que está oculto nas entrelinhas. A metodologia empregada foi bibliográfica, partindo das obras do autor, complementadas por outras afins, para dar base e sustentação ao tema. Infere-se que a religião ocupa na teoria de Bloch alta relevância e preocupação filosófica concomitantemente à experiência utópica ocupa uma importância expressiva em sua teoria. Pois, o ateísmo blochiano não objetiva eliminar a religião, mas sim a conservação dos conteúdos utópicos. Portanto, a utopia de Blcoh tem por centralidade a “possibilidade” e a “esperança”, como contribuição para romper com instituições e ideologias, sem que a religião seja instrumentalizada ideologicamente para dominação.

Philosopher of hope, Bloch reflects on religion and utopia, suggests that atheism is the truth of religion. Today, constant conflicts involving religion can be witnessed in the social context, which leads to the hope of a better world. Utopia is the driving force for the novum, through individual daydreams, social utopias in the collective also aim to transcend the future. Bloch appropriates the contents of Jewish and Christian religions to build his materialist theory. He conceives that the divine materialized in the human, through the character of the Son of Man, passing religion from heaven to earth. The objective is to demonstrate that atheism is activated by the very utopias of Christianity, by making a critical reading of the Bible of what is hidden between the lines. The methodology used was bibliographical, starting from the author's works, complemented by other similar ones, to give basis and support to the theme. It is inferred that religion occupies in Bloch's theory high relevance and philosophical concern concomitantly with the utopian experience occupies an expressive importance in his theory. For, Blochian atheism does not aim to eliminate religion, but the conservation of utopian contents. Therefore, the centrality of Blcoh's utopia is "possibility" and "hope", as a contribution to breaking with institutions and ideologies, without religion being ideologically instrumentalized for domination.
