O objetivo desse artigo consiste em analisar as noções de representação e autoridade presente no argumento contratualista de Hobbes. Essas noções são fundamentais para o entendimento do modo como o poder soberano age em relação aos membros que o constitui. Assim, desmitifica-se a interpretação no qual evidencia o Estado polÃtico proposto pelo filósofo em questão contrário aos direitos individuais.
The aim of this paper is to examine the notions of representation and authority in Hobbes’s argument. These notions are important to the understanding of how the sovereign acts in relation to its members. Thus, demystifies itself to the interpretation which highlights the political state proposed by the philosopher is contrary to individual rights.
