REPRESENTAÇÕES DOS GESTORES E TÉCNICOS SOBRE O JARDIM BOTÂNICO DO RECIFE.

Desde o surgimento das áreas protegidas que a relação destas com as comunidades de seu entorno são carregadas de percepções distintas entre seus gestores e essa comunidade, influenciando, assim, o comportamento, valores e atitudes para com o meio. No geral, essas diferentes percepções têm contribuído para a gênese de conflitos na relação gestor-comunidade. No Brasil, grande parte das áreas protegidas são áreas de preservação ou unidades de conservação, espaços excludentes com as comunidades de seu entorno. Os Jardins Botânicos são áreas protegidas de uso indireto e têm como objetivo a pesquisa, a educação e a conservação. Nessas áreas, as relações com as comunidades do entorno precisam ser dialógica, visto que um de seus objetivos é a educação. Assim, esse trabalho teve como objetivo principal verificar a situação do Jardim Botânico do Recife, sua importância, vulnerabilidade, objetivos e relação com a comunidade do entorno a partir da percepção de seu gestor e seus técnicos. Para esta pesquisa foi utilizada a metodologia de RAPPAM (Rapid Assessment and Prioritization of Protected Area Management ), desenvolvida pelo Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis (IBAMA) e o World Wide Found for Nature (WWF), para verificar o grau de efetividade das Unidades de Conservação a nível federal. Para os gestores e funcionários do Jardim Botânico Chico Mendes, a área possui uma alta biodiversidade e alto valor educacional, levando-o, assim, a cumprir seus objetivos de conservação e educação. Por outro lado, apresenta alto grau de vulnerabilidade, com fácil acesso para atividades ilegais, pouca interlocução com a comunidade e baixa participação da comunidade nas suas ações.

Since the rise of protected areas that the relationship of these with the communities surrounding it are loaded with different perceptions among its managers and its surrounding community, thereby influencing the behavior, values and attitudes towards the environment. Overall, these different perceptions have contributed to the genesis of conflict in the relationship manager - community. In Brazil, most protected areas are preservation or full protection, and excluding the community from its surroundings and not allowing their direct use. The Botanic Gardens are protected indirect use areas and aims to research, education and conservation. In these areas, the relationship with the surrounding communities to be dialogical, since one of its goals is education . Thus, this study aimed to verify the situation of the Botanical Garden of Recife, its importance, vulnerability, objectives and relationship with the surrounding community from the perception of their manager and their coaches. IBAMA and the World Wide Found for Nature - For this research the methodology of RAPPAM ( Rapid Assessment and Prioritization of Protected Areas Management ), developed by the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources WWF was used to verify the degree of effectiveness of protected areas at the federal level . For managers and employees of Chico Mendes Botanical Garden area has high biodiversity and high educational value thus leading him to fulfill his goals of conservation and education, on the other hand, has a high degree of vulnerability, with easy access to illegal activities, little dialogue with the community and low community participation in their actions.
