O objetivo deste artigo é discutir os vÃnculos entre o Instituto Histórico e Geográfico de São Paulo (IHGSP) e o movimento de construção da memória de São Paulo. Pouco a pouco, a Revista do Instituto Histórico e Geográfico de São Paulo (RIHGSP) transformou-se na guardiã de parte da memória de São Paulo e da nação. Pretende-se desse modo contribuir para a reflexão sobre a maneira pela qual a RIHGSP pode ser interpretada como “lugar de memória†e como espaço para formulação e encaminhamento de problemas históricos.
This paper is aimed at discussing the links between the São Paulo Historical and Geographic Institute (IHGSP) and the construction processes of the memory of the São Paulo State. Little by little, the Magazine of the São Paulo Historical and Geographic Institute (RIHGSP) transformed itself into the guardian of part of the memory of São Paulo and of the nation. It thus intends to contribute to the comprehension RIHGSP as “places of memory†and as spaces where historical problems are formulated and dealt with.
