A atividade exercida pelos Profissionais de Saúde da Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) é desgastante, pois, sabe-se que esse setor do hospital é destinado ao atendimento de pacientes em estado agudo ou crítico, que requerem assistência médica e de enfermagem permanente e especializada. São pacientes sujeitos à instabilidade das funções vitais, que necessitam constantemente de equipamentos especiais de diagnósticos precisos e tratamentos adequados nos procedimentos a serem realizados, mas também se torna hostil pelos procedimentos invasivos e pelo ambiente em si, afetando, assim, sua saúde física e mental, repercutindo na sua qualidade de vida e no desempenho profissional. Esses fatores levam o profissional a se tornarem vulneráveis ao desenvolvimento da Síndrome de Burnout (SB), definida como esgotamento profissional decorrente da tensão emocional crônica no trabalho, e tem como características principais a Exaustão Emocional (sentimentos de fadiga), Despersonalização (desenvolvimento de sentimentos negativos) e Baixa realização profissional (sentimento de insatisfação com o trabalho). O estudo tem como objetivo avaliar a presença da Síndrome de Burnout entre os profissionais de saúde na UTI. Esse estudo foi realizado em sites eletrônicos, destacando-se: SCIELO, INCA. Os artigos nacionais pesquisados foram publicados no período de 2001 a 2013. Foram analisados 30 artigos, esses artigos foram selecionados minuciosamente pelo ano de publicação e tema, nos estudos predominaram os índices altos nas três características o que representam sinais positivos da doença, já que o diagnóstico só pode ser realizado por um Especialista. Conclui-se, portanto, a prevenção é a melhor maneira para que esses profissionais não se tornem alvos da doença. A síndrome é uma experiência individual que prejudica a relação do indivíduo com seu trabalho, atrapalhando seu desempenho profissional, o que reflete em prejuízos para o indivíduo, para a organização e pode estender-se para o usuário do serviço.

The activity performed by the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Health Professionals is exhausting, as it is known that this hospital sector is intended for the care of patients in acute or critical condition, requiring permanent and specialized medical and nursing care. . They are patients subject to vital function instability, who constantly need special equipment for accurate diagnosis and proper treatment in the procedures to be performed, but also become hostile to the invasive procedures and the environment itself, thus affecting their physical and mental health. , affecting their quality of life and professional performance. These factors lead the professional to become vulnerable to the development of Burnout Syndrome (BS), defined as professional exhaustion due to chronic emotional tension at work, and their main characteristics are Emotional Exhaustion (feelings of fatigue), Depersonalization (development of feelings). negative) and Low professional achievement (feeling of dissatisfaction with work). The study aims to evaluate the presence of Burnout Syndrome among health professionals in the ICU. This study was conducted on electronic sites, highlighting: SCIELO, INCA. The researched national articles were published from 2001 to 2013. Thirty articles were analyzed, these articles were carefully selected by the year of publication and theme, in the studies the high rates predominated in the three characteristics, which represent positive signs of the disease, since the Diagnosis can only be performed by an Expert. Therefore, prevention is the best way for these professionals not to become targets of the disease. The syndrome is an individual experience that impairs the individual's relationship with their work, disrupting their professional performance, which reflects damage to the individual, the organization and may extend to the service user.
