O Instituto de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Amazonas tem como diferencial possuir em sua área experimental localizada no campus IFAM-CMZL o Centro de Referência em Agroecologia C.R.A. Em 2019 para fazer parte das atividades práticas durante a Semana de Agroecologia foi construído por alunos, professores, servidores e colaboradores uma casa de farinha na área experimental. A casa de farinha é uma tecnologia tradicional usada no beneficiamento da macaxeira (Manihot esculenta) e ao longo dos anos foi sendo aperfeiçoada por povos tradicionais e quilombolas estabelecidos na região Amazônica. A macaxeira, é item fundamental e base alimentar para maioria da população amazônica além de base socioeconômica para muitos trabalhadores da agricultura familiar. Ensinar de forma prática em ambiente urbano como se beneficia um item tão importante aproxima comunidade, alunos e academia iniciando um diálogo importante entre esses três elementos. Formar profissionais em Agroecologia que entendam e aprendam a valorizar saberes tradicionais e culturais pode melhorar a relação entre sociedade e conhecimento cientifico ajudando a mudar diversos quadros de exploração ambiental inadequadas que observamos nas áreas urbanas e rurais.
The Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amazonas has the differential of having in its experimental area located at Campus IFAM-CMZL the Reference Center in Agroecology C.R.A. In 2019, as part of the practical activities during the Agroecology Week, students, teachers, employees and employees on the premises of the C.R.A. built a flour house. The flour house is a traditional technology used in the processing of manioc (Manihot esculenta) and over the years it has been improved by traditional and quilombola people established in the Amazon region. Macaxeira (Manihot esculenta) is a fundamental item and food base for most of the Amazon population, in addition to a socioeconomic base for many family-farming workers. Teaching in a practical way in an urban environment how such an important item benefits brings the community, students and the academy together by initiating an important dialogue between these three elements. Training professionals in Agroecology who understand and learn to value traditional and cultural knowledge can improve the relationship between society and scientific knowledge, helping to change the various situations of inadequate environmental exploitation that we observe in urban and rural areas.
