Sob a égide de uma frase adaptada de um filme, o epicentro temático do presente texto reside na produção artística que motiva a inquirição teórica, revelando a génese de um processo de autor de investigação em arte.

Assim, em primeiro lugar procede-se à identificação das linhas de força que emergem da panorâmica geral desse percurso artístico com mais de três  décadas, desde um período inicial em que a utopia parece palpável e a que, gradualmente, se sucedem diversas realidades. Em  seguida, um conjunto mais recente de obras permite maior focagem na questão da reavaliação da pintura como possibilidade artística contemporânea, cruzando a especificidade tradicional com a abertura dos limites, a liberdade e o hibridismo. Finalmente, são reveladas algumas inquietações teóricas, poéticas e políticas de um projeto recente, ainda em curso, relacionado com o filme referido.

She sells sea shells: notes for a poetics (and a policy) in painting

 

Under the aegis of a sentence adapted from a movie, the thematic epicenter of this paper lies in the artistic production that causes the theoretical inquiry, revealing the genesis of the process of an author in art research.

So, first there is the identification of driving lines emerging from an overview over three decades of this artistic journey, from an initial period in which utopia seems palpable and that gradually is succeeded by different realities. Then, a more recent body of work allows for greater focus on the issue of painting revaluation as a possibility in contemporary art, crossing the traditional specificity with the opening of borders, freedom and hybridism. Finally, some theoretical concerns, poetics and politics of a recent project, still ongoing, related to the referred film, are revealed.
