Este artigo analisa a evolução histórica acerca da soberania estatal e como a virada linguÃstica no final da década de 1980 modificou sua percepção. Ao final, concluÃmos ser desafiador o seu estudo, mas que, dada à s constantes transformações atuais, em especial através da cooperação internacional, se mostra de grande relevância.

This essay critically analyzes the historical evolution of state sovereignty and how the linguistic turn in the 1980s has changed its perception. We conclude that is a big challenge its study, but extremely important considering the current transformations nowadays, specially in times of international cooperation.
