Resumo Inglês:

Science education must be the agent that causes the understanding and management of nature, projecting a better future by observing natural phenomena. In the UFSM, a public HEI, the candidate / vacancy / science relation is less than 1, revealing low attractiveness, for a demand of approximately 12,000 candidates and less than 2,000 vacancies. Only the enhancement of science teaching can stimulate more young people to think, discuss and test their observations with creativity. Mastery of this language will avoid marginalization in a society that can no longer resign itself to remain in international scientific and technological dependence. One of the aspects of the University's social function was concerned with the democratization of education in order to make it more accessible to different social extracts, especially for the popular classes, jpa that most of the analyzed tickets do not exercise paid activity, come from public schools, day courses and family income less than 4 minimum wages. The number of graduates in Sciences decreases sharply, while evasion, disapprovals and blockages increase systematically.

It is necessary to develop critical thinking in a larger group of people by studying science, for the society of the future will be commanded by those who master this universal language.

We can not ignore the chance to become good professionals who awaken and promote, from the first grade, the interest in Science, taking the course of analytical thinking, developing concepts and scientific criteria, valuing Science itself.
