The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between yield and its components of sorghum
subjected to conventional fertilization, fertigation and without fertilization by analysis of correlation and path. The
experiment was conducted at the Experimental Station of the Meteorological Department of Agricultural Engineering,
Federal University of Ceará, Fortaleza, Ceará, in the period March to July of 2008. Used the EA 955 cultivar, harvest of
grain sorghum in 2007. The irrigation systems used in conducting the experiment was dripping. The experimental
design was randomized blocks with seven treatments and four replications. The levels tested were 0, 30, 60, and 120 kg
ha-1 by conventional method and by fertigation. The variables studied were: yield, 100 seed weight, ratio panicle
weight/diameter of the panicle, ratio panicle weight/length of panicle, weight, larger diameter and length of panicle.
Significant correlations of yield of sorghum were found with a larger diameter of the panicle, ratio panicle
weight/diameter of the panicle, ratio panicle weight/length of panicle. Positive direct effects were observed in 100 seed
weight, panicle weight, length of panicle and ratio panicle weight/length of panicle.
