The article aimed at discussing the treatment of the theme sport in the Boletim Geral do Ultramar
(Overseas General Bulletin), an official publication launched by the Portuguese government. From an
overview of the relations between Portugal and its colonies in the context of sports, in the post World
War II, we analyzed the representations on the sport mobilized by such metropolis, launching a new look at its colonial policy.
