Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases that affects humans, reaching countries at all stages of development. This study aimed to analyze the concentration of type 2 DM in the urban area of Viçosa-MG, in the 40-year old age group, through geoprocessing techniques. DM data was obtained from the City Hall for the collection of the Reorganization Plan for Attention to Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus. As a result, 2 thematic maps were generated through the Arc View 3.2 software.
