Nos dias 9 e 10 dejulho de 2018, a Con ferência das Nações Unidas para o Comércio e Desenvolvimento realizou a 3ª Reunião do Grupo Intergovernamental de Especialistas em Proteção ao Consumidor e Política em Genebra. Nessa oca sião, especialistas e representantes de governo de todo o mundo discutiram os assuntos mais relevantes e urgentes relacionados à proteção e à política do consumidor. O discurso de abertura foi proferido pelo professor Dr. Sothi Rachagan da Universidade de Nilai, Malásia e refere-se à consonância entre as Diretrizes das Nações Uni das sobre Proteção ao Consumidor (UNGCP) e os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS), com foco especial na solução de conflitos e repa ração, na justiça no sistema de justiça civil e na qualidade dos mecanismos de Solução Alternati va de Litígios (ADR).

On July 9th and 10th 2018 the United Nations Conferenc:e for trade and development held the 3th lntergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection and Policy Meeting in Geneva_ On such occasion, experts and govern ment representatives from ali over the world discussed the most relevant and urgent matters related to consumer protection and policy. The keynote speech was delivered by Professor Dr. Sothi Rachagan from Nilai University, Malaysia and refers to the consonance between the Unit ed Nations Guidelines on Consumer Protection (UNGCP) and the Sustainable Development GoaIs (SDGs), with a special focus on dispute resolution and redress,justice in the civil justice system and the quality of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms.
