A novel synthesis of 1-[(N-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)thioamido]-5-substituted-2-imino-4-thiobiurets (3) was carried out by the reaction of tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosylisothiocynate (1) with 1-substituted-3-formamidino-thiocarbamides (2) in acetone-ethanol (1:1) medium. The prepared compounds have been purified and their structures were established on the basis of their gasometric analysis, chemical characteristics, elemental analysis, 1H-spectra, as well as by their IR and MS spectra.
