Terra Sonâmbula, do escritor moçambicano Mia Couto, é considerado um dos maiores expoentes da produção literária africana do século XX. Neste artigo buscaremos enfocar a utilização do insólito como fio condutor das duas narrativas que se desenvolvem ao longo do livro. Num texto recheado de tradições e crenças daquele povo africano, apontaremos para uma vertente de leitura que privilegia o fantástico, o mágico, enfim, as manifestações do insólito como parte fundamental na estrutura dessa obra.
Sleepwalking Land, written by Mia Couto, is considered one of the greatest exponents of African literary production on the twentieth century. In this article, we’ll focus on the use of the unusual as a guiding thread of two narratives that are developed throughout the book. In a text filled with traditions and beliefs of the African people, we will approach the reading aspect that privileges the fantastic or the magical, that is, the manifestations of the unusual as a fundamental part in the structure of this book.
