O estudo objetiva desenvolver um projeto de educação em saúde voltado para orientação sexual de alunos do ensino fundamental de uma escola pública. Realizado o levantamento do perfil de uma escola de ensino fundamental da rede pública de Fortaleza-CE, elaborou-se um projeto de intervenção de enfermagem. Os resultados mostraram o baixo nível de conhecimento acerca dos temas trabalhados, fato surpreendente, já que a temática é proposta dos novos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais do Ministério da Educação (Brasil, 1997). Ao final, concluímos que houve significativa mudança no nível de conhecimento desses alunos, indicando a relevância da presença do enfermeiro na escola, planejando e executando projeto didático-pedagógico.
This study is aimed to develop a educational project in health directed to sexual education of pupils of the basic education of a public school of Fortaleza-CE. After carried through the survey of the profile of the school, an intervention design was elaborated. The results had shown the low level of knowledge concerning the thematic ones dealt with, surprising fact, since the thematic one is proposal of the new National Curricular Standards of the Ministry of the Education (Brasil, 1997). One concludes that it had significant change in the level of knowledge of these pupils, indicating the relevance of the presence of the nurse in the school, planning and carrying aut the didactic-pedagogical design.
