O artigo tece reflexões no intuito de contribuir com estudos sobre a trajetória de formação e do trabalho em Serviço Social, destacando a formação oferecida pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Serviço Social da PUC-Rio. Para tanto, adota como fio condutor a categoria trabalho, para o qual é destacado o aporte da teoria social marxista, e apresenta a produção intelectual sobre trabalho contida em teses e dissertações defendidas no âmbito do Programa. A análise está pautada no exame de documentos históricos do Departamento de Serviço Social da PUC-Rio, bem como em revisão bibliográfica sobre o tema, tomando como referencial a formação profissional e acadêmica crítica.
The article aims to weaver reflections that can contribute to studies on the trajectory of training in Social Work, highlighting the training offered by the Postgraduate Program in Social Work at PUC-Rio, adopting the work category as a guideline, for which the contribution of Marxist social theory is highlighted. Presenting the intellectual production on work contained in theses and dissertations prepared within the scope of the Program, the analysis is based on the examination of historical documents from the Department of Social Work at PUC-Rio, as well as on a bibliographic review on the subject, taking as a reference the formation professional and academic criticism.
