Neste artigo, buscaremos analisar a noção de sistema em três momentos das elaborações saussurianas: i) nos estudos comparatistas do linguista, especificamente entre 1878 e 1879, com o “Mémoire sur le système primitif des voyelles dans les langues indo-européennesâ€; ii) nos estudos sobre Linguística Geral efetuados no início da década de 1890, com o conjunto de manuscritos “Da essência dupla da linguagemâ€; iii) entre 1910 e 1911, na ocasião do último curso de Linguística Geral ministrado na Universidade de Genebra, com o conjunto de manuscritos “Notas para o curso IIIâ€. Com isso, poderemos conhecer a trajetória do processo de elaboração da noção de sistema de Saussure, bem como evidenciar de que maneira essa noção se relaciona com a busca do linguista pelas reformas metodológicas e terminológicas por ele reivindicadas para os estudos linguísticos.
In this work, we aim to analyzethe notion of system in three moments of saussurian elaborations: i) during the linguist’s comparative studies, specifically between 1878 and 1879, with the “Mémoire sur le système primitif des voyelles dans les langues indo-européennes”; ii) in the studies on General Linguistics, carried out in the early 1890s,with the set of manuscripts “L’essence double du langage”; iii) between 1910 and 1911, in the occasion of the last course in General Linguistics given at the University of Geneva, with the set of manuscripts “Notes pour le cours III”. Thereby, it will be possible to know the trajectory of the elaboration process of Saussure’s notion of system, as well as to highlight how this notion is related with the search of the linguist for methodological and terminological reforms, claimed by him to linguistic studies.
