O presente trabalho teve por objetivo tentar traçar um paralelo entre as discussões em relação à educação de dois pensadores da sociologia clássica: Émile Durkheim e Max Weber. Sem a pretensão de esgotar o tema buscamos compreender o tratamento por eles concedido ao fenômeno educativo, destacando suas ideias e, consequentemente, suas contribuições tanto para a sociedade moderna como para a contemporânea. A leitura e reflexão sobre as teorias clássicas desses e outros autores pode gerar um entendimento mais apurado e significativo do que foi, do que é, e do que será o pensar a educação permitindo promover mudanças e construir novas perspectivas sobre o ato de educar na sociedade contemporânea.
The present work had the objective to try to draw a parallel between the discussions in relation to the education of two thinkers of the classical sociology: Émile Durkheim and Max Weber. Without pretending to exhaust the theme, we seek to understand the treatment they give to the educational phenomenon, highlighting their ideas and, consequently, their contributions both to modern society and to contemporary society. The reading and reflection on the classic theories of these and other authors can generate a more accurate and meaningful understanding of what was, what is, and what will be the thinking of education allowing to promote changes and build new perspectives on the act of educating in society contemporary art.
