O artigo investiga a prática e teologia batismal wesleyana
e sua inclusão tanto no batismo de crianças
como no de adultos, com base na diversidade do
cânon bÃblico (sola scriptura) e na necessidade missionária.
Somente esta visão mais inclusiva garante
que o batismo represente a unidade da Igreja Cristã,
sendo sinal visÃvel da graça invisÃvel. Além disso,
interpretam a posição arminiana como vinculação
dinâmica da sola gratia e sola fide.
This article investigates Wesleyan baptismal practice
and theology and the inclusion of the baptism
of children as well as believers, with basis in the diversity
of Biblical canon (sola scriptura) and missionary
necessity. Only this more inclusive vision
guarantees that baptism represents the unity of the
Christian Church, being it a visible sign of invisible
grace. Beyond this, he interprets the Armenian position
the as dynamic joining of sola gratia and sola
fide.
