Ao longo do século XIX, as interfaces entre imprensa periódica e Literatura foram múltiplas, uma vez que os jornais apareciam como difusores da produção literária, em uma época na qual as condições para a edição de livros eram ainda muito dificultosas. Tal perspectiva também ocorreria em meio ao jornalismo português que, ao final daquela centúria, passava por uma etapa de ampla expansão. Uma das características do periodismo luso de então era a especialização, em meio a qual a imprensa humorístico-ilustrada também esteve em franco progresso, notadamente no âmbito lisbonense e portuense. Na cidade do Porto foram publicados vários periódicos ilustrados, entre eles o Pontos e vírgulas, em cujas páginas foram inseridos vários textos da lavra de Sílvia da Vinha, apesentada como contista do jornal. O estudo de tais inserções, mormente no que tange à emancipação feminina, constitui o escopo deste trabalho.

Throughout the 19th century, the interfaces between the periodical press and Literature were multiple, since newspapers appeared as diffusers of literary production, at a time when the conditions for book publishing were still very difficult. Such a perspe ctive would also occur in the midst of Portuguese journalism, which, at the end of that century, was undergoing a stage of wide expansion. One of the characteristics of Portuguese journalism at the time was specialization, in which the humoristic - illustrat ed press was also making steady progress, notably in Lisbon and Porto. In the city of Porto, several illustrated journals were published, among them Pontos e Vírgulas, in whose pages several texts were inserted from S íl via da Vinha's work, presented as a short story writer for the newspaper. The study of such insertions, especially with regard to female emancipation, is the scope of this work.
