Pretendemos investigar e descrever o que podemos chamar de um giro ético-político no interior da teoria da história e da história da historiografia contemporânea, ou ainda, a hipótese de que boa parte dos historiadores e teóricos comprometidos com estes campos tem se preocupado, cada vez mais, em pensar e/ou intervir no mundo contemporâneo, e isto a partir do problema da diferença/alteridade. Nesse sentido, nosso objetivo é o de tematizar e explicitar mesmo que brevemente algumas categorias elaboradas e operadas por historiadores e teóricos contemporâneos que também têm se mobilizado no interior do giro ético-político, a saber: François Hartog, Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht e Hayden White.

Our intention is investigate and describe what we can call an ethical-political turn inside theory of history and history of contemporary historiography. Besides that, we reflect on the hypotesis that a significant part of historians and theorists commited to these fields are increasingly concerned with thinking and/or intervening in the contemporary world and doing this from the problem of difference/alterity. In this sense, our ambition is to thematize and explain – even if we have to do it briefly – some of the categories elaborated and operated by contemporary historians and theorists who have also mobilized themselves within the ethical-political turn, namely: François Hartog, Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht and Hayden White.
