Várzea de Marituba/Brasil: imagem e texto tecendo memórias e narrativas

Resumo Português:

Partindo do tema fotografia e cultura anfíbia, o presente artigo se situa em uma área de confluência entre memória cultural e informação. Logo, tem-se por objetivos: identificar as imagens captadas pelo fotógrafo Edvaldo Damião em 1991, em combinação com a leitura dos relatórios produzidos e organizados por Silva e Marques, respectivamente, em 1990 e em 1992; conferir visibilidade à Várzea da Marituba através das fontes visuais, escritas e orais; comparar as três formas de linguagens, de modo que elas dialoguem entre si fornecendo subsídios e complementaridade. Portanto, o signo indiciário se constituiu na metodologia de pesquisa, na medida em que se fez uso desses vestígios visuais, escritos e orais e se passou a preencher lacunas e vazios deixados pelo lastro temporal existente de 1991 a 2011, quando da realização da pesquisa de campo, pelas autoras deste artigo. Os resultados da pesquisa incidiram sobre um quadro de reflexões sobre o bem patrimonial (i)material, vinculado ao ecossistema identificado como a Área de Proteção da Várzea de Marituba do Peixe. Nesse sentido, compararam-se, de um lado, os registros visuais e escritos e, de outro, a oralidade da comunidade ribeirinha. As conclusões apontam para a necessidade de se estabelecer diálogos capazes de produzir reflexões e soluções sobre uma crise de alcance político e socioambiental que atinge não só o patrimônio natural, mas o patrimônio cultural dessas populações, onde moradia, saúde, alimentação e educação se fundem no bem-estar social.

Starting from the theme photography and amphibious culture, the current article is located in an area of confluence between cultural memory and information. Therefore, its mains objectives are: to identify the images captured by the photographer Edvaldo Damião in 1991, in combination with the reading of the reports produced and organized by Silva and Marques, respectively, in 1990 and in 1992; to convey visibility to Várzea da Marituba through visual, written and oral sources; to compare the three forms of languages, so that they dialogue among themselves providing subsidies and complementarity. Consequently, the index sign was constituted in the research methodology, as it made use of these visual, written and oral traces, and then gaps and voids were filled. These last were left by the existing temporal ballast from 1991 to 2011 during the accomplishment of the field research by this article´s authors. The survey results focused on a reflection framework about the (i) material heritage, linked to the ecosystem identified as Área de Proteção da Várzea de Marituba do Peixe ( Protection Area of Várzea de MaritubaddoPeixe). In this sense, on one hand, the visual and written records were compared, and on the other hand, the orality of the riverside community was. The findings point out the need to establish dialogues capable of producing reflections and solutions on a crisis of political, social and environmental reach affecting not only the natural heritage, but the cultural heritage of these populations, where housing, health, food and education merge in welfare.
