O presente artigo tem como escopo de seu escrutÃnio a obra da mexicana Rosario
Castellanos, publicada na década de 50 e intitulada Balún Canán. O romance, que tem como
pano de fundo as mazelas que residiam no paÃs, traz, enquanto tônica principal, a realidade dos
grandes latifundiários, cujas práticas desenvolvidas submetiam a contextos de exceção o povo
indÃgena. A autora, ademais de explorar a referida questão, coloca o dedo na ferida da sociedade
mexicana, visto que também explicita os episódios de dor e violência visualizados pela figura
infantil, sobretudo, quando as crianças são obrigadas a conviverem com cenários de truculência
e têm seus direitos de resguardo violados.
Resumo Inglês:
The work of the Mexican Rosario Castellanos, published in the 50’s and entitled
Balún Canán, is the aim of the present article. The novel, which has as its backdrop the wounds
that dwelled in her country, brings as its primary issue the reality of the landlords, whose
practices subjected the indigenous people to the social border. The author, in addition to
exploring this matter, touches the delicate aspect of the Mexican society, since it also sets the
episodes of pain and violence witnessed by the infant figure, especially when children are
forced to live with scenes of cruelty and have their safeguarding rights violated.
