Esse artigo é fruto de uma pesquisa de mestrado, com o objetivo de compreender as representações sobre meio ambiente manifestadas pelos moradores de Rancharia, Campo Alegre de Goiás, em seu viver o cotidiano, em suas relações sociais e práticas ambientais, com o intuito de delinear algumas diretrizes que podem auxiliar os programas e ações de educação ambiental, seja na comunidade ou fora dela. A investigação foi guiada pela metodologia da pesquisa qualitativa, que privilegia os aspectos objetivos e subjetivos dos atores sociais, como a compreensão da realidade, a relevância e os significados que os fenômenos têm para eles e o estudo de valores, crenças, hábitos, atitudes, percepções e representações. As entrevistas com os moradores de Rancharia e o estudo teórico fortaleceram a reflexão sobre a complexidade do cotidiano, a importância das representações sociais e os desafios da educação do futuro.
This article is based on a research, with the objetive is to understand the representations of the environment expressed by residents of Rancharia, Campo Alegre de Goiás, in his daily life, in their social relations and environmental practices, in order to delineatesome guidelines that can assist programs and environmental education, in the community or outside. The investigation was guided by the qualitative research methodology, which focuses on the objective and subjective aspects of social actors, such as understanding the reality, relevance and significance that the phenomenon have for them and the study of values, beliefs, habits, attitudes, perceptions and representations. The interviews with residents of Rancharias and theoretical study strengthened the reflection on the complexity of everyday life, the importance of social representations and education challenges of the future.
