While remembering and reflecting about the translation of the play “J’étais dans ma maison et j’attendais que la pluie vienne” by Jean-Luc Lagarce from French to Brazilian Portuguese, made by the author in 2004, the article investigates the dramaturgical aspect of the task of translating theatrical plays, questioning how the orality is a part of the written composition of a text.
