O presente artigo busca entender o vocabulário polÃtico utilizado pelos participantes da Revolução 1817, principalmente os termos “pátriaâ€, “paÃs†e “naçãoâ€. Demonstra a manobra polÃtica dos revolucionários ao utilizar o termo “pátria†para incorporar os portugueses habitantes de Pernambuco, que antes eram tratados como inimigos. Concomitantemente, evidencia a estreita ligação entre a maçonaria e a revolução de 1817, e seus empréstimos ideológicos para os termos estudados.
This article try to
understand the political vocabulary
used by the participants of the 1817
Revolution in Pernambuco, Brazil.
The main terms studied are “pátriaâ€
(homeland), country and nation. Also,
the article focuses on the politics of
the natives revolutionaries when they
used some political terms to
incorporate the Portuguese people
that lived in Pernambuco, although,
in the first moment, the natives
addressed the Portuguese people as
enemies. In the same time, the article
analyses the connections between the
freemasonry and the 1817 Revolution,
and the influence of the freemasonry
ideas to political terms used.
