As novas dimensões do conhecimento que resultam em novas formas de produzir e disseminar informações, advindas de um tempo caracterizado como interativo, e de um Espaço do saber, requerem um repensar da Ciência da Informação quanto à representação de conteúdos disponíveis em ambientes digitais. Dessa forma, a partir da pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, se discorrerá sobre a Web Semântica como alternativa à representação dos objetos digitais construídos na proposta da inteligência coletiva. Dessa forma, se apresentará a Web Social Semântica e algumas de suas manifestações, como os blogs e wikis semânticos, destacando nessa perspectiva a relevância da aplicação de metatados e ontologias para a estruturação de ambientes semânticos.
The new dimensions of knowledge that result in new ways of producing and disseminating information, arising from a time characterized as interactive, and a knowledge space, require a rethinking of Information Science on representation of content available in digital environments. Thus, from the bibliographical and documentary research, the Semantic Web will be treated as an alternative to representation of digital objects built on the collective intelligence proposal. Therefore, the Social Semantic Web and some of its manifestations will be presented, such as blogs and semantic wikis, highlighting in this perspective the relevance of applying metadata and ontologies for structuring semantic environments.
