Neste artigo aborda-se a representação do personagem Luke Cage, inspirado nos quadrinhos da Marvel e adaptado pela empresa Netflix. Objetiva-se observar a questão racial, considerando a história e o contexto de alguns personagens, como também se apresenta uma reflexão sobre a emancipação política da comunidade negra no Harlem. Nesse sentido, a pesquisa trata da análise das características do herói na trama e suas representações no espaço de uma comunidade sitiada, observado nos primeiros onze episódios. Para tanto, a pesquisa bibliográfica baseia-se no conceito de representação (HALL, 2000; FERRO, 1975), de racismo e emancipação política (FANON, 2010), como também, sobre o gueto (WACQUANT, 2008). Esta abordagem proporcionou uma análise sobre personagens que simbolizam o processo de emancipação de um povo submetido às vicissitudes de uma sociedade racista.
This article deals with there presentation of the character Luke Cage, inspired by Marvel comics and adapted by the company Netflix. It aims to observe the racial issue, considering the history and context of some characters, as well as presenting a reflection on the political emancipation of the black community in Harlem. In this sense, there search is about the analysis of the characteristics of the hero in the plot and its representations in the space of a besieged community, observed in the first eleven episodes. For this, the bibliographic research is based on the concept of representation (HALL, 2000; FERRO, 1975), of racism and political emancipation (FANON, 2010), as well as on the ghetto (WACQUANT, 2008). This approach provided an analysis of characters that symbolize the process of emancipation of a people subjected to the vicissitudes of a racist society.
