The anatomical characteristics of the wood of Albus austrobrasilica Burk are described and photomicrographs of its structure are provided. The main characters observed, such as very short vascular elements, simple perforation plates, paratracheal axial parenchyma, homogeneous rays and libriform fibers, attest to a high degree of xylem specialization. For the identification of wood, the presence of septate fibers, ornate intervessel punctuation and the absence of stratification are also important.
