The work consists of a survey and taxonomic framework of the genera of soil cyanophytes and pavement, found in 5 stations, located in the Campus area of the Federal University of Santa Maria. Eight samples were collected during the years 1992 and 1993, using the substrate scraping method, obtaining 22 genera distributed in 5 families and 3 orders.
