The work has as main objective the identification of the sedimentary sequence belonging to the Itararé (Lower Permian) Group of the Paraná Basin in RS and south of SC, along two stratigraphic sections, with NE-SW direction. These were elaborated from deeper areas of the basin (SC) to the paleovales identified in the south border, next to the South-Rio-Grandense Shield (BOSSI & PICCOLI, 1979; LOPES et alii, 1986; PICCOLI et alii, 1983, HOLZ et al., 1986).
