The general, macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of the wood of Lonchocarpus nitidus (Vogel) Bentham, Leguminosae Faboideae are described. The anatomical structure is compared with literature references for the botanical family and gender. Quantitative data are provided as well as illustrations of the wood.
