Leaves of cultivated plants, alive or fixed, were studied in transversal and paradérmico cuts. The area occupied by epidermal cells, stomata and trichomes was determined according to the stereological method. For this determination and the study of venation, whole, clarified leaves ere used. The structure of the leaves is dorsiventral. Stomata are anomocytic. The trichomes are of the conical, filiform, glandular bisseriado types. Venation is acrobat. Plexuses of endings of ribs are directed towards the apex of the teeth of the serrated margin, participating in the formation of hydatodes. The vascular bundles are collateral, differentiating phloem fibers. The vascular bundles of the higher order veins have a parenchymal sheath. Schizogenous secretory channels, opposite the protoxilema, accompany the primary veins
