No dia 19 de maio deste ano a Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), com sede em Lausanne, na Suíça, comunicou oficialmente as partes e ao público em geral uma das decisões mais esperadas no cenário desportivo internacional envolvendo, de um lado, o Shakhtar Donetsk, clube de futebol da Ucrânia, e de outro, o atleta de futebol brasileiro Matuzalem e o clube de futebol espanhol Real Zaragoza. A questão envolvia basicamente a análise e definição das conseqüências financeiras que teria o atleta ao rescindir, sem justa causa, o contrato de trabalho que o ligava ao clube ucraniano.
