Objetivamos compreender os desdobramentos da narratologia no âmbito das investigações da televisão por meio da revisão crítica de certos estudos já realizados sobre a narrativa televisual. Para tanto, destacamos três vertentes desses estudos. A primeira delas caracteriza-se por buscar as apropriações realizadas pela televisão de outros formatos narrativos, como o cênico, o literário, o fílmico e o radiofônico. A segunda reúne investigações dedicadas à identificação das especificidades da ficção televisual naquilo que a distingue de outras vias narrativas, destacando, por exemplo, as matrizes da narrativa seriada. A terceira vertente é composta pelos estudos qualitativos da televisão, particularmente, aqueles que deram origem aos termos “televisão de qualidade” (quality TV) e “era de ouro da televisão” (television golden age). Por fim, propomos uma reflexão acerca dessas abordagens e suas possíveis relações com a narratologia literária e fílmica, posicionado-nos a favor de uma perspectiva intermidiática ao inserir a televisão nos estudos da narrativa.

Towards a narratology of television fiction. We aim to understand the unfolding of narratology in the field of television research by means of a critical review of certain studies already made on television narrative. Therefore, we highlight three aspects of these studies. The first of these is characterized by the appropriation made by television of other narrative formats, such as scenic, literary, filmic and radiophonic. The second brings together investigations dedicated to identifying the specificities of television fiction in what distinguishes it from other narrative forms, highlighting, for example, the matrices of the serial narrative. The third aspect is composed of qualitative television studies, particularly those that gave rise to the terms “quality TV” and “television golden age”. Finally, the article discusses these approaches on TV narrative and its possible relations with the literary and filmic narratology, in favor of an intermedial perspective.
