Artistas, pode ser observado o
quanto a cultura festiva negra foi
ignorada ou reprimida pelas elites.
As queixas sobre a falta de
divertimentos na cidade, apesar do
rico calendário festivo, eram
freqüentes. Essa parecia ser a forma
encontrada pelas elites de barrar o
desenvolvimento da cultura negra,
apesar das resistências.
Analyzing a magazine of
the elite that was published in
Salvador-Ba from 1920 to 1924, Arts
& Artists, it can be observed how
much the black festive culture was
ignored or restrained by the elites.
The complaints on the lack of
amusements in the city, although the
rich festive calendar, were frequent.
This seemed to be the form found
for the elites to bar the development
of the black culture, despite of the
resistances.
