Este artigo é parte de uma dissertação de mestrado1 que têm por objeto o romance A la Recherche du Temps Perdu2 de Marcel Proust (1871-1922) e que prioriza a discussão do uso da literatura nos estudos históricos. O objetivo é localizar historicamente o gênero literário romance, ou seja, buscar sua contextualização histórica. Embora o foco aqui não seja analisar exaustivamente o referido romance proustiano, há algumas citações e referências a esta obra. Pois o presente texto surgiu da necessidade de compreender em que espaço, já constituído historicamente, o escritor Marcel Proust conseguiu lançar e firmar seu projeto criador, sua Recherche. Portanto este artigo é resultado da problematização de uma modalidade de fonte histórica (um romance do início do século XX), a qual exigiu um recuo temporal para compreender as especificidades históricas do gênero romance.
This article is part of a dissertation completed that focus on the novel A la Recherche du Temps Perdu by Marcel Proust (1871-1922) and focuses the discussion on the use of literature in historical studies. The goal here is to locate historically the romance genre, or seek its historical context. While the focus this time is not an exhaustive analysis of Proustian novel, there are some quotes and references to this work. This is because this text arose precisely the need to understand in which space, as historically constituted, the writer Marcel Proust was able to launch and establish your creative project, his Recherche. So this article is the result of questioning of a type of historical source (a novel of the early twentieth century), which required a temporary setback to understand the historical specificities of the romance genre.
