Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar a educação física divulgada por médicos e professores como mola propulsora para assegurar a saúde e o bem viver na Paraíba. São profissionais que viam no discurso científico e na modelação corporal, a “melhor” forma de possuir um corpo belo e saudável. Discursos que eram publicados nos jornais da Paraíba e que eram utilizados como instrumentos pedagógicos que visava educar através da educação física do corpo como higiene da alma. Textos que se inserem no projeto de medicalização dos costumes, dos espaços e dos corpos, que normatizam a partir da infância e contribuem para a formação de uma história da saúde e das doenças. Problematizo notícias do jornal A União, correspondências e artigos publicados no início do século XX por médicos sanitaristas e educadores que foram imprescindíveis para a construção dessa história do corpo que se exercita, que se embeleza, se higieniza, dessa História Cultural.
This article aims to analyze the physical educations pread by doctors and professors like as prying board to ensure the health and welllivingin Paraíba. They are professionals who saw both in the scientific discourse and in shaping the body, the best way to on a beautiful and healthy body. Speeches that were published in news papers of Paraiba and were used as teaching tool say med at education through physical education of the body as hygiene of the soul. Texts that fall within the medicalization project of habits, spaces and bodies that regulates from child hood and contributes to the formation of a history of health and disease.
