Modernização histórica, modernização gráfica e tradição literária: a cultura brasileira de massa na literatura de Guimarães Rosa

Numa perspectiva de análise que considera literatura e seus suportes de publicação inseparáveis, este artigo refere-se à literatura de Guimarães Rosa como tributária de códigos e matrizes eruditas, e também de uma cultura de massa brasileira, dos anos 1940 e 1950. Em alguma medida esteticamente devedora de artistas plásticos que ilustram seus livros, presumidamente disponível para intensas trocas intertextuais dos anos do Após-Guerra e trocas intelectuais do pensamento social do Brasil interpretado a partir dos anos 1930, à literatura de Guimarães Rosa pode-se acrescentar a intervenção de itens e materiais identificados a uma cultura de massa, evidentemente retrabalhados pelo escritor no registro de sua invenção e de seu fazer artístico erudito e pluriliterário. Pode-se avaliar, assim, numa época de grande interação de textos artísticos e interpretativos do Brasil à disposição das artes, a sofisticação com que o escritor, pela verdade própria da literatura, pôde figurar o Brasil, revisando a máxima da impossibilidade literária de interação erudição e massa numa obra da qual a crítica fixou uma tradição analítica que a identifica mormente com a erudição. Não é só dos materiais da erudição que vive a obra rosiana. Evidenciar isso é o principal propósito deste artigo.

A perspective of analysis that considers literature and its inseparable publication media, this article refers to Guimarães Rosa literature as tax codes and erudite arrays, and also a Brazilian mass culture of the 1940s and 1950s. In some aesthetically debtor as of artists that illustrate his books, presumably available for intense intertextual exchanges of years the After-War and intellectual exchanges of social thought the interpreted Brazil from the 1930s, Guimarães Rosa literature can add the intervention of items and materials identified a mass culture, of course reworked by the writer in the registration of his invention and his scholarly and diversed literary work. Can be evaluated as well, a time of great interaction of artistic and interpretative texts of Brazil at the disposal of the arts, the sophistication with which the writer, by the very fact of literature, might figure the Brazil, revising the common idea of the impossibility of literary scholarship and mass interaction in a work which set a critical analytic tradition that identified especially with scholarship cliche. Not only is the learning materials who lives Rosa’s work. Check this is the main purpose of this article.
