Esse artigo pretende esclarecer como se estabelece a produção de roupas a partir da Revolução Industrial, em que se delineiam o fenômeno do gosto e do consumo, sabiamente manipulados pela nascente indústria, além de ilustrar como se inicia o estudo e o ensino do desenho técnico e do vestuário, objetivando mostrar como o aperfeiçoamento do desenho coincide então com o aprimoramento das técnicas industriais, e passa a ser uma importante ferramenta de projeto em substituição às formas empíricas do fazer.
This article aims to clarify how the production of clothing is established from the Industrial Revolution, which delineates the phenomenon of taste and consumption, wisely manipulated by the nascent industry, and illustrate how to begin the study and teaching of technical design and clothing, aiming to show how the improvement of design coincides with the improvement of industrial techniques, and becomes an important project tool to substitute empirical forms of doing.
