Muito do que se conhece da história da “região sul de Mato Grosso” se deve aos escritos produzidos por autores memorialistas. Porém, nem sempre as documentações consultadas podem ser analisadas ou cotejadas com outras pelo fato de não existirem materialmente, pois são originárias de informações contidas na tradição oral das famílias pioneiras. Esses autores descreveram os seus antepassados como desbravadores e fundadores na ocupação desta região. Diante disso, o presente trabalho investiga como determinados textos produzidos por autores memorialistas contribuíram para edificar um passado glorioso sobre os pioneiros e os seus feitos.
Much of what is known of the history of southern “region of Mato Grosso” is due to writings produced by memorialist authors. However, not always consulted documentation can be analyzed or collated with others, because of the fact that they don’t exist materially, since they are from information contained in the oral tradition of pioneering families. These authors describe their ancestors as pioneers and founders in the occupation of this region. That said, this work also investigates how certain documents produced by memorialist authors contributed to build a glorious past about pioneers and their achievements.
