Este artigo pretende discutir algumas expressões performativas de sexualidade e gênero manifestadas por jovens mulheres em três espaços voltados para o lazer observados na periferia de São Paulo.Estes espaços, um de samba e dois de funk são locais privilegiados de encontros juvenis embalados pela música e pelo estilo de cada grupo.
Esta pesquisa foi realizada através da observação direta de campo e de algumas entrevistas abertas e conversas espontâneas com os frequentadores dos locais sempre que as condições o permitiram. A pesquisa se concentra nas mulheres jovens com o desafio de refletir sobre suas manifestações de gênero e sexualidade tendo como desafio refletir sobre as possibilidades de se articular as categorias de raça/cor, classe social, teritorialidade compreendidadas como categorias articuladoras da experiência social dessas moças.
This article discusses some performative expressions of sexuality and gender expressed by young women in three places in the periphery of São Paulo City geared towards leisure. Those places, where the youth gather together according to the style of their preference (in one of the places the samba music prevails whereas the two other ones the funk music does) are prime locations of meetings. The research was conducted through direct observation and field open interviews as well as spontaneous conversations with the young whenever it was possible. It has been focused on young women with the aim to reflect on their expressions of gender and sexuality. Moreover, it is an attempt to reflect on the possibilities of articulating the categories such as race/color, social class, territory and their role on those women’s social experience.
